HEALS Applicant and Parents,

This email acknowledges that your application to the Healthcare Excellence Academy Lab School has been received. We appreciate your interest in the program.

The application window is open from March 2 until March 31. A tentative date for the lottery is scheduled for April 2. As a grant-funded Lab School through the Virginia Department of Education, the Code of Virginia requires that Lab Schools be open to all students and should the number of applicants exceed the number of seats for students in the program, we are required to select students through a lottery. HEALS contracts with Lotterease to conduct our lottery. This allows the lottery to be executed by a neutral party.

The next steps for the selection process will include:

Lotterease will send an email to applicants prior to the lottery stating that the student has been entered into the lottery.
At the conclusion of the lottery, Lotterease will email students to inform them if their application has been selected or waitlisted.
Students who received the Applicant Selected email will be provided a link to confirm or decline their seat. Students will have 10 days to respond.

If the student does not respond within 10 days, the offer will expire automatically and the applicant will move to the bottom of the waitlist.

When the seat is confirmed, an email will be sent from Lotterease stating that attendance is confirmed and HEALS will follow up with an email at a future date.

If a student declines their seat, an automatic decline email will be sent from Lotterease.

Waitlisted students will be informed of their place on the waitlist and will receive additional emails each time they move up the waitlist for positions 1-5 and 10 20, 30, etc.
